Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Specialist to join our team in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. As a Database Specialist you will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining our organizations database systems to ensure optimal performance security and reliability.
- Design implement and maintain database systems using various database management systems (e.g. Oracle SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL)
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support business operations and reporting needs
- Implement data models and normalization techniques to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
- Monitor database performance identify bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies
- Establish and maintain database security measures including user access controls and data encryption
- Perform regular database backups and develop disaster recovery plans
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate database systems with applications and ensure data integrity
- Implement and manage ETL processes for data warehousing initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and best practices including cloud-based solutions
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration or a related role
- Proficiency in multiple database management systems (e.g. Oracle SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL)
- Strong SQL programming skills and experience with database design and implementation
- Expertise in data modeling normalization techniques and performance tuning
- In-depth knowledge of database security best practices and access control mechanisms
- Experience with database backup and recovery procedures
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex database issues
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g. Amazon RDS Azure SQL Database)
- Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Relevant database certifications (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are preferred
