Your role
As a Scientific Officer at EMBL in Savitski Team your responsibilities will include:
You have
An appropriate University degree (PhD BSc or MSc) and a minimum of 5 years practical experience.
Extensive hands-on experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics in particular with Thermo instruments and methods.
Profound knowledge of chemical proteomics thermal proteome profiling and solubility proteome profiling with a proven track-record. This must include knowledge of TMT-based or SILAC-based protein quantification in the wet lab as well as the dry lab including data processing (with MSFragger Fragpipe) and data interpretation; experience with protein-protein interaction characterizations by co-immunoprecipitations BN-PAGE and chemical pulldowns; experience with enrichment and analysis of posttranslational modifications including acetylation phosphorylation as well as glycosylation; lysis expertise of a broad range of samples for example archaea bacteria various animals ranging from fish to mouse tissues cell pellets etc.; high familiarity with culturing eukaryotic cells

Software skills: MS Office (in particular Excel and PowerPoint) basics in R ThermoXcalibur Googles suite of web apps Adobe illustrator or other vector-based graphic software
Excellent communication skills and fluency in written and verbal English are essential; German is considered a benefit
Contract length: 3 years (renewable up to 9 years in total)
Salary: Grade 6; depending on qualifications and experience; basic salary starting at 3.914 EUR/month (national tax free before 12.05% EMBL social security deductions
