Job Description

Job Description: Arcadia University seeks a collaborative and equity-driven professional to serve in this hybrid role for the 2025-2026 academic year. This one year full-time live-on position plays a key role in shaping the student journey-from the residence halls to campus traditions-by combining Residence Life Coordinator responsibilities with Student Engagement responsibilities in leading high-impact programs and supporting inclusive communities. Reporting jointly to the Director of Student Engagement and the Director of Residence Life with a primary emphasis on supporting residential engagement this role bridges residential community development with campus-wide student programming orientation and student development. This position supervises Resident Assistants (RAs) fosters meaningful relationships with first year students assists in coordination on parts of new student orientation and supports university-wide traditions such as Welcome Week and engagement programming. They also serve special populations as a liaison for students in the H.O.M.E Scholars Program a program for former foster care youth in their pursuit of a college degree and overseeing the functionality of The Pantry a resource for those who are food insecure.

Responsibilities:

Residential Leadership & Community Development:

  • Supervise and evaluate undergraduate and graduate RAs cultivating a safe inclusive and developmentally rich residential community.
  • Coordinate residence hall programming supervising RAs aligned with departmental learning outcomes.
  • Participate in the campus-wide professional staff on-call rotation and respond to residential incidents and emergencies.
  • Support residential operations including move-in/move-out safety checks and housing communication.
  • Promote the Lived Values Knight Code of Honor and JEDI principles in residence hall leadership and student engagement.
  • Assist with and provide support to resident life recruitment and new student onboarding activities for first year students.
  • Assist with and implement orientation assessments and use feedback to inform future design in collaboration with the Director of Engagement Operations.
  • Supervise and mentor Graduate Assistants and undergraduate student workers working with The Pantry guiding their training and leadership development.
  • Assist with signature university events such as Welcome Week Homecoming Get Lit Woodstock and Senior Week.
  • Serve as a member of the Programmers Council collaborating on a calendar of inclusive student-centered events.
  • Serve as one of the staff Advisors to the Student Engagement Board (SEB) supporting student leadership cross-campus collaboration and vibrant engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute to event assessment processes and data-informed program enhancement.
  • Serve as a Success Coach and liaison for the HOME Scholars Program (Housing Opportunities Mentorship Empowerment).
  • Oversee all operations of The Knight Pantry including inventory management student access volunteer coordination food pick up to meet evolving needs. (Coordinate with the administrator of the Pantry Grant for grant management).

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in higher education student affairs social work counseling or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in residence life student engagement or related student affairs areas.
  • Experience supervising student staff and implementing residential or campus programming.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and justice-oriented student development.
  • Strong organizational communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work evenings weekends and participate in on-call rotation.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in higher education counseling social work or related field.
  • Experience planning orientation or student transition programs.
  • Familiarity with restorative practices and housing management systems.
  • Experience working with historically underrepresented student populations including those with lived experience in foster care.
