Here is what you will be doing:
This is a senior position on the Corporate Performance and Reporting team that plays an integral role in supporting the advancement of Ontario Healths mandate to deliver an integrated health care system. It does this by leading work to modernize integrate and enhance enterprise performance leading development of executive level reporting products designed to highlight progress against Ontario Healths mandate and strategic priorities. It will also involve working collaboratively with teams to take strategy to scoped deliverables setting out objectives processes and key outcomes to inform decision making for Ontario Healths CEO and Senior Leadership Team.
The Advisor will contribute to this work through:
Facilitating the development of strategic options with senior leaders across the Agency to advance Ontario Healths mandated priorities including improving the integration of Ontarios healthcare system and improving access and quality of care for Ontarians.
Leading complex analysis and engagement programs and preparing clear and compelling findings and recommendations for senior Ontario Health leadership that will influence decision making.
Supporting delivery of key products and services that support translating key performance insights from across the enterprise into dynamic meaningful reporting that drives ongoing and continuous improvement that is evidence based.
Forging strong relationships across Ontario Healths various functions will enable effective collaboration and ensure our team consistently finds ways to enhance our value to the Agency.
Collaborating cross-functionally to highlight operational insights develop key performance indicators and utilize forecasting and modeling for enhanced internal reporting capabilities
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Leadership:
Ensuring the quality and integrity of project work and supporting other team members in executing on their deliverables.
Planning organizing and leading internal and external working groups and advisory committees ensuring tracking and execution of action items and follow-ups.
Supporting and leading a high-performing team through project work and maintaining and promoting a culture of respect inclusiveness learning support and collaboration.
Championing Ontario Healths organizational values of inclusion diversity and anti-racism and promoting these within the team.
Supervise and mentor cross-functional teams and staff when required to do so including but not limited to providing performance feedback and appropriately escalating issues to the Manager.
Problem Solving:
Taking an action-oriented approach to understanding and assessing ambiguous challenges and generating potential approaches.
Leveraging exceptional problem-solving skills to generate clear hypothesis-driven workplans and solutions to address these issues for our business partners.
Managing the execution of workplans including sequencing activities and interdependencies; proactively identifying managing and escalating issues and risks as needed.
Conducting work on multiple projects and assignments shifting and adapting work in response to changes in program priorities and timelines.
Analysis & Communications
Strong knowledge of performance management concepts that would support the development and use of key performance and monitoring of health system performance alongside internal efficiencies and corporate performance.
Lead the work to consolidate multiple reporting with diverse qualitative and quantitative datasets enabling consistent streamlined access and cross-product analysis for data-driven insights. Familiarity of data visualization tools such as Power BI is an asset.
Engaging subject matter experts and leaders from across the various Ontario Health portfolios as well as external partners as required (leading informant interviews and facilitating workshops) to develop and inform strategic options and planning approaches.
Developing compelling communications materials and presenting findings to key decision makers within Ontario Healths senior leadership team and within external partners to inform and guide strategic decision-making.
Leveraging superb analytical and communication skills to build alignment and consensus across Ontario Health and its system partners related to complex issues.
Ability to focus discussion on outcomes and impact on the health system.
Engagement
Developing close working relationships with senior Ontario Health leaders to advance planning on strategic priorities and ensure that our teams activities are contributing to and enabling the successful realization of these priorities.
Engage subject matter experts across the agency to develop strategic documents and processes fostering alignment and consensus on complex issues.
Leveraging exceptional facilitation and relationship management skills to lead project meetings workshops and briefings with senior leadership and system partners to ensure meeting objectives are met.
Engaging external partners including the Ministry of Health as required to advance strategic priorities and support the successful translation of policy objectives to implementation.
Seeking opportunities to enhance the value that our team brings to the Agency and presenting these to the team.
Education and Experience
Masters Level Degree required preferably in Health Policy Law Business Administration or another relevant discipline.
A minimum of eight (8) years experience in policy strategy or planning role with a minimum of two (2) years recent experience working within the healthcare sector.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario Healthcare system.
Knowledge and Skills
Proven leadership capabilities (including through influencing and supporting colleagues who were not direct reports).
Proven ability to work independently and comfort with ambiguous mandates / challenges.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and skilled at presenting complex concepts clearly and effectively for senior leaders.
Skilled in creating products (e.g. papers reports presentations diagrams) for multiple internal and external audiences.
Proven ability to simplify complex ideas into compelling visuals for senior leadership and external partners to advance strategic conversations.
Extensive experience in leading partner engagements and facilitating strategic discussions with senior leadership to gain group consensus and enable decision making.
Proven ability in project management with strong time management and organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills and the ability to use a variety of software programs (including Excel Visio PowerPoint etc.). Use of data visualization tools such as Power BI is an asset.
