The Research Assistant II will work in the productive environment of a federal and privately funded laboratory focused on the development of innovative cell and gene therapies for the treatment of inflammation and cancers using immune- and virus-based approaches. The incumbent will have a solid knowledge in molecular biology cloning and tissue culture. The incumbent will conduct research with minimal supervision or independently participate in the design of experiments analyze data and may contribute to manuscripts.
1. Participate in experiments analyze data formulate conclusions and create appropriate statistical visualizations (such as graphs and charts) for the purpose of reporting research/laboratory results.
2. Independently process and deliver presentations of scientific data.
3. Operate basic laboratory equipment such as centrifuge pH meter analytical balance scintillation counter spectrophotometer light microscope and/or laminar flow hood. May also utilize other sophisticated instrumentation such as fluorescence or luminescence spectrophotometer.
4. Manage inventory of basic laboratory supplies and specific project necessities. Purchase inventory to maintain stock as needed.
5. Educate train and supervise new students and other research staff that assist on the project.
6. Meet regularly with Principal Investigator (PI) and colleagues to review lab data troubleshoot problems prioritize tasks and discuss newly published scientific literature relevant to the cell and gene therapy field.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Biology Chemistry or related field required.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous biomedical research experience preferred.
Unclear
