Position Summary The Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) oversees the pharmacy's daily operations. This includes directing and supervising support staff ensuring efficient medication dispensing and inventory practices and maintaining compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Essential Functions -Dispenses prescription medications including non-sterile compounds accurately and provides appropriate counseling to patients addressing customer inquiries concerns and medications-related questions -Provide information and guidance to customers regarding over-the-counter medications and health- related products -Review and interpret prescription orders (verbal written and electronic) to verify accuracy and appropriateness and transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles accurately. -Maintains accurate patient records including medication histories drug interactions and patient interactions -Monitors patient medication therapies to prevent drug interactions. -Reads extracts and interprets information in patient charts accurately. -Collaborates with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans. -Oversee and manage the pharmacys inventory ordering and restocking medications as needed -Participates in quality improvement medication use review activities. -Participates in development presentation of orientation education and training programs to the pharmacy medical nursing and other staff. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Provides accurate adequate and timely drug information to staff. -Supervises/directs support personnel verifies daily activities and participates in performance appraisal of support personnel. -Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced work environment. -Works independently with minimal supervision. -Organizes and prioritizes work assignments. -Ensures pharmacy services are provided in a timely manner. -Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives. -Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled. -Performs other duties as assigned. -Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). -Follows and adheres to state and federal pharmacy regulations
Work Experience -Two years of experience in a Pharmacy setting preferred. -Certification in immunization delivery
Education -Currently licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of Texas required. -Doctorate in Pharmacy or Bachelors in Science required.
