Role Overview:

Reporting within the Corporate Center Risk and Control function the Operational Risk Associate / AVP will be responsible for documenting process flows performing risk assessments supporting issue management documenting operational loss events metric reporting and supporting third party management processes. The role includes supporting the execution of the Risk Control Self-Assessment framework and Issue Management related processes. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in learning about risk and various disciplines and be able to work independently as well as with others at various levels within the organization to properly ensure risk assessments are completed on time and meet the Banks quality standards. Potential for flexible work arrangements for well qualified candidates.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare RCSA Documentation
  • Document critical business process flows
  • Support Business Unit and Division Risk Managers in execution of Risk Control Self Assessments in the Banks GRC tool
  • Support the Control Testing Office in timely and efficient execution of Key Control testing processes
  • Issues management
  • Work with stakeholders to document Issues and corresponding action plans
  • Monitor progress of remediation activities
  • Perform issue validation
  • Perform data analysis and reporting related to key risk metrics
  • Provide accurate and timely operational risk reporting
  • Assist with operational loss events and determining root cause analysis
  • Assist with recurring reporting routines
  • Perform ad-hoc assessments
  • Assist with other risk assessment requests from second line risk management groups such as Third-Party Risk Compliance Enterprise Risk

Technical skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated professional with understanding of key risk concepts
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Frameworks and Processes
  • Proficient with the following technology tools: Microsoft Office 365 (Excel PowerPoint Word TEAMS and Visio)
  • Experience with GRC Tools Open Pages Archer Jira)

Experience & Abilities:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry in risk management or internal audit environment
  • Strong work ethic ability to work independently to drive results while contributing to a team
  • Ability to build relationships with people at all levels;
  • Ability to produce high quality process documentation with quick turnaround times
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills

Education:

Bachelors degree or equivalent
