Dean Technical High School part of Holyoke Public Schools in Holyoke Massachusetts is a dynamic Career Technical Education (CTE) high school that prepares students for college career and life. Serving a diverse and talented student population Dean Tech combines rigorous academics with hands-on industry-aligned vocational training across multiple career pathways. POSITION OVERVIEW
Dean Technical High School is seeking passionate and student-centered Student Support Coordinators to join our dedicated team. In this role you will be instrumental in helping students stay on track academically socially and emotionally while supporting their journey through both academic and vocational learning experiences. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who are passionate about career-focused education and who thrive in flexible relationship-driven environments.
Student Support Coordinators at Dean Tech:
Build strong trusting relationships with students to support personal and academic growth
Help students navigate challenges in and out of the classroom to promote success in both core academic subjects and career technical programs
Collaborate with educators counselors families and administrators to ensure students receive the resources and interventions they need
Support positive behavior systems attendance and student engagement
Promote a safe inclusive school culture where all students feel seen valued and supported

Job Description:
- Assist with redesigning the Student Support Room
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Student Support Room
- Maintain a welcoming and therapeutic physical space
- Implement social-emotional and restorative justice curriculum and assist with its design
- Collaborate with school administrators guidance counselors teachers restorative justicestaff and others.
- Co-design communicate and implement clear policies and protocols
- Communicate with and maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians
- Develop individual plans with students to address the issues that led to their referral
- Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and make improvements.
- Form caring relationships and model respectful communication and unconditional positiveregard for students and families.
- Teach self-regulation skills and self-care strategies to identified students.
- Utilize behavior management techniques respectfully and appropriately.
- Employ relationship and counseling skills effectively.
- Provide occasional restorative classroom interventions when necessary.
- Participate in and help to facilitate when appropriate training and support for schoolstaff.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
- 1-3 years experience working with at-risk youth doing social-emotional development workrequired
- Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong de-escalation and care planning skills
- Experience working in an urban setting preferred
- Experience working with diverse student populations preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills
- Bilingual applicants (Spanish) strongly encouraged to apply
