Inpatient Float Registered Nurse Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in Colorado
- Current ACLS
- PALS (within 6 months of hire for ICU/SOU/PACU/IR/ED)
- TNCC/TCAR (within 1 year of hire for ED/ICU)
Responsibilities:
Clinical Expertise:
- Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to provide high-quality patient care across different departments such as medical-surgical critical care pediatrics or others.
- Must be clinically competent in at least three separate departments.
- Expected to remain up to date with the latest evidence-based practice and process improvement projects within the departments to which you float.
Assessment and Monitoring:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor patients for changes in their condition promptly intervening when necessary.
Medication Administration:
- Administer medications accurately and safely following established protocols and ensuring compliance with medication orders.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams communicate effectively with healthcare providers patients and families and ensure the seamless flow of information between different units.
- Float pool RNs must work collaboratively with and within various nursing departments and will manage up these teams
Adaptability:
- Quickly adapt to new environments policies and procedures within various units demonstrating flexibility and the ability to handle diverse patient populations.
- Pool RNs are the first staff to be floated in accordance with policies and procedures at Community Hospital
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving:
- Employ critical thinking skills to assess complex situations make sound decisions and solve problems efficiently especially when facing unfamiliar patient cases or unit-specific challenges.
Time Management:
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to provide efficient and organized patient care balancing the demands of multiple units or departments.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Adhere to regulatory standards hospital policies and documentation requirements ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments interventions and outcomes.
Compensation:
- $40.00 - $46.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
- Bonus: $20000
- Discretionary bonuses relocation expenses merit increase market adjustments recognition bonuses and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
Additional Information:
- Relocation: Must relocate to Grand Junction CO 81505 before starting work.
