Lay out install and repair all types of electrical equipment such as high-tension switchboards and automatic controls.
Perform all types of plant wiring including the maintenance of signal telephone or loudspeaker systems.
Install and repair relay and ordinary lighting circuit jobs push button controls switches cord sets etc.
Must have knowledge of motors and industrial electronics.
Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting.
Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions for all electrically controlled equipment.
Recommend and order spare parts and equipment.
Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience working as an electrician. Industrial experience a plus.
Must have verifiable formal training in electrical theory and safety. Certificate showing completion of state of Connecticut or other apprenticeship program preferred.
E-2 not mandatory but a plus.
Knowledge of PLC programming troubleshooting and repair necessary. Rockwell Automation SLCS00 a plus.
Understanding of industrial motor control AC/DC including invertor drives holding circuits and overload protection.
Capable of troubleshooting repairing installing and wiring of basic electrical components such as relays starters motors drives and switches.
Able to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics.
Use of common electrical tools such as multi-meters strippers/crimpers EMT benders and threaders.
Able to mechanically disassemble and assemble basic machine components with common hand tools.
Must be safety conscious organized neat and able to work alone or as a team member.
