Job Description
The Franklin Public Schools a Prek-12 district is seeking a skilled and experienced special education assistant to work at the Franklin Middle School. The assistant will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support in the general education classrooms combined with specialized learning instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for studentsWork with lead teacher to provide academic social and emotional support and interventionWork collaboratively with team of general education and special education teachers and therapistsCollect data Qualifications:Associates degree or higher or ParaPro Certification preferredExperience in public school settingExperience working with children with disabilitiesAble to take initiative and work independently Knowledge of adolescent development
