The story of our organization begins in 1993 when Texas created a workforce development system that made significant efforts to improve service delivery through local control and coordination of services from different programs. On May 23 1996 Governor George W. Bush certified the North Central Texas Workforce Development Area (WDA) and on July 25 1996 the Chief Elected Officials of the 14-county WDA signed a partnership agreement forming the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board and selected the North Central Texas Council of Governments as its fiscal agent grant recipient and administrative agent. Our WDA includes Collin Denton Ellis Erath Hood Hunt Johnson Kaufman Navarro Palo Pinto Parker Rockwall Somervell and Wise counties.
How you will make an impact - Description of the Opportunity:
The Assistant Director of the Workforce Development Programs Unit will provide strategic leadership operational oversight and management of a team responsible for providing day-to-day program oversight program technical assistance and management of Board selected subrecipient responsible for delivering workforce programs and services childcare quality and scholarship programs and industry engagement initiatives. Working closely with the Executive Director the Assistant Director will ensure the alignment of program goals with the organizations mission vision and strategic objectives. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Workforce Programs unit Industries & Workforce Engagement unit and Child Care Development unit ensuring that programs and services are efficiently and effectively implemented and responsive to community needs and performance is tracked managed and achieved through the Boards subrecipients. The Assistant Director will need to have a working knowledge and experience of the workforce development system to ensure compliance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Choices/TANF Program Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Employment & Training (SNAP E&T) Program Noncustodial Parent (NCP) Choices Program Child Care Development Block Grant as well as other workforce development programs. The Assistant Director will play a key role in fostering collaboration across teams managing stakeholder relationships and driving program impact to support our regions workforce families employers and local industries.
