Job Description
Warehouse Manager
We are seeking a proactive hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead daily operations at our main facility in Port Clinton and ensure consistent processes across our other satellite warehouses. This role plays a vital part in maintaining accurate inventory supporting construction and field operation schedules and fostering a safe efficient work environment in coordination with procurement logistics construction and field teams. The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for maximizing space utilization managing warehouse machinery and equipment and maintaining an organized and functional layout both indoors and outdoors.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving storage inventory management and shipping.
- Manage and track telecom equipment such as fiber optics cables routers switches and supporting infrastructure materials.
- Implement and enforce safety and security procedures in compliance with industry and company standards.
- Coordinate with procurement operations and field teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Lead train and manage warehouse staff; delegate tasks and monitor performance.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and improve warehouse KPIs such as order accuracy inventory turnover and fulfillment lead time.
- Collaborate on process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with remote warehouse location(s) to ensure consistent inventory standards and operational procedures.
- Manage indoor and outdoor layout to optimize material flow and storage efficiently. Oversee routine maintenance and proper use of all warehouse equipment.
- Creating a positive and productive work environment to achieve daily goals.
- Prioritize and delegate warehouse tasks to ensure daily goals are met efficiently.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in warehouse management.
- 2 years experience with forklift and/or telehandlers.
- Previous merchandising or retail experience with a focus in inventory management.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and operate warehouse machinery (e.g. forklifts pallet jacks etc.).
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to commute to the warehouse.
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards (OSHA ISO etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
- Certification in warehouse operations or logistics (e.g. APICS OSHA Forklift Certification) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
