Job Description
Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Strategic Initiatives Public Research Integration (Nickels Lab) for the Waksman Institute of Microbiology. This position will play a central role in launching a new initiative focused on integrating non-credentialed researchersincluding citizen scientists independent scholars and community-based expertsinto the institutional processes by which knowledge is produced validated and disseminated within academia. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Leads the development of the initiatives mission vision values and long-term strategic plan. Identifies and engages key stakeholders across Rutgers and beyond and design a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy including website development branding and public outreach. Designs and oversees programming aligned with the initiatives goals such as fellowships workshops and collaborative research projects. Coordinates institutional partnerships and liaising with departments research centers and university leadership. Fundraising will be a core responsibility including identifying funding opportunities drafting proposals and cultivating relationships with donors and foundations. Assists in developing tools for evaluation and documentation to assess the initiatives impact and guide future planning.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in civic engagement as well as familiarity with citizen science community-based research or public scholarship.
