A Brief Overview
The International Student Advisor at Queens University International Centre (QUIC) plays a vital role in supporting the academic personal and social success of international students. Through individualized advising and strategic programming the Advisor helps students navigate immigration processes cultural transitions and university systems. This role fosters a welcoming environment that promotes equity inclusion and cross-cultural understanding while empowering students to thrive at Queens and beyond. The Advisor also contributes to the development of services and interventions that build student capacity resilience and community connection.
This position is responsible for providing services for international students workers and their family members through the provision of advice and guidance on issues related to immigration student wellness and academic support services. This position will lead the coordination of activities related to pre-arrival support and orientation for incoming international students. This position is a collaborative role in which the incumbent will work closely with other International Student Advisors Queens University International Centre and Student Affairs staff. This position also directs allocates and supervises the work of other staff.
