About the role
Were looking for a talentedData Modeller/Engineerto join our Digital Services division. In this role youll be instrumental in transforming data into business value by designing and maintaining high-quality data models that support analytics reporting and strategic decision-making.
Youll work across both project and business-as-usual initiatives contributing to the development of our Lakehouse architecture and ensuring our data is structured accurate and accessible. This is a fantastic opportunity to work collaboratively with data owners architects and analysts to shape the future of data at Essential Energy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define develop and maintain data analytics solutions using methodologies like Inmon 3NF and Kimball.
- Ensure data pipelines and data stores are efficient organised and reliable.
- Work with data owners and business units to define and validate report requirements.
- Conduct data profiling analysis and mapping to support business requirements.
- Analyse user requirements to design functional specifications.
- Maintain Data Models: Develop and maintain conceptual logical and physical data models data mappings and transformations.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Lakehouses Bronze Silver and Gold layers.
- Establish and maintain security controls knowledge management and risk management within the business.
This is a permanent opportunity. This role can be based anywhere withinEssential Energys operational footprint with Port Macquarie being the desired location.
About You
Youre a strategic thinker with a passion for data and a knack for turning complex requirements into elegant data solutions. You bring a mix of technical expertise and strong communication skills allowing you to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
In addition to this you will have:
- Experience in data architecture modelling and governance
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Data Platform especially Azure Databricks
- Knowledge of ER Studio Erwin or similar tools
- Understanding of Star Schema and metadata management
- Experience translating business requirements into physical data models
- Strong analytical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
Required Qualifications
- Advanced Diploma in Information Technology (Advanced Data Management) or equivalent experience
