Job Description

Posting Summary
The Department of Human Ecology School of Environmental and Biological Sciences Rutgers University in New Brunswick invites applications for the position of Lecturer for the in-person class Environmental Justice for the Fall 2025 semester. The class is scheduled from 5:40-7:00 Tuesday and Thursdays. Possibility of renewal for spring 2026 pending performance The successful applicant is expected to take on all responsibilities for teaching the course. This includes twice weekly course meetings preparing course content activities and test/evaluation materials grading tests and assignments managing course materials through the Canvas course management system and maintaining regular (remote and/or in person) office hours to answer student questions and provide student assistance. Masters or PhD degree in environmental social science or policy field required and professional experience with environmental justice issues highly desired. The Department of Human Ecology encourages all its teaching faculty to engage students in active and/or experiential learning. Previous course syllabus and materials are available to assist the Lecturer in maintaining continuity with previous semesters.
