Position Summary

The Sr. Manager of Practical Process Improvement Business Systems implements Thermo Fisher Scientifics Continuous Improvement Business System within the Purification and Pharma Analytics (PPA) business. This position partners with key collaborators to develop multi-year plans via strategy deployment tools and leading kaizen activity to enable the teams to achieve their business goals and grow the PPI culture.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate implementation of the PPI Business System across PPA to achieve growth quality customer satisfaction cash flow and productivity targets.
  • Develop and facilitate strategic deployment and associated cadences
  • Lead the success of productivity metrics goal setting and identification and execution of business-based improvement activity.
  • Maintain a validated funnel of improvement activity with a sustainable review mechanism.
  • Develop and strengthen the business system leadership culture by using mentor tools and methodologies like critical metrics leadership tiered daily management systems Gemba walks etc.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop standardize and drive operating mechanisms that enhance key performance indicator accountability and action
  • Own the PPI Steering Committee to ensure there is an active pipeline of continuous improvement projects aligned with business priorities
  • Improve the decision-making critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities within functional teams to increase autonomy and the pace of change.
  • Coach continuous improvement engagement and empowerment with our leaders PPI practitioners and colleagues.
  • Coach and mentor site and PPI leaders to drive improvements standard methodology sharing and harmonization throughout the network sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering science operations or business with evidence of operational leadership or professional experience.
  • 8 years of experience with PPI Business Systems or comparable prior experience working in a continuous improvement business system.
  • Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Inspired people manager with a history of effective colleague development
  • A hands-on track record of implementing successful Continuous Improvement elements in a functionally-agnostic environment
  • Able to identify and deliver year-over-year results using data-based problem solving
  • Proven record for developing training and coaching international teams.
  • Ability to collaborate and work optimally across a heavily matrixed environment
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity with attention to detail
  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills with the ability to influence and lead change
