Job Description

Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance is responsible for ensuring that individuals and groups representing the universitys athletic program comply with all institutional Sunshine State Conference and NCAA regulations. The position is also responsible for the development implementation and monitoring of all policies and procedures relative to a comprehensive compliance program which includes recruiting eligibility financial aid playing and practice seasons and amateurism. Administer educate and enforce Sunshine State Conference NCAA and institutional compliance policies and procedures for all athletic sports. Inform and educate coaches student athletes administrators staff and faculty on NCAA rules and regulations. Evaluate the eligibility of prospective student athletes and oversee academic progress toward degree. This position also provides academic and eligibility information to prospective student-athletes and parents.

Job Description:

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Direct the institutions overall athletic compliance program consistent with all institution Sunshine State Conference and NCAA regulations
  • Coordinates appeals hearings of athletic financial aid and transfer release
  • Coordinate the process for certifying initial continuing and transfer eligibility of student-athletes
  • Administer educate monitor and enforce institutional Sunshine State Conference and NCAA compliance policies and procedures for all intercollegiate athletic teams.
  • Manage student-athlete records in the applicable databases and coordinate with on campus offices in regards to student records (ex: Financial Aid Registrar Admissions etc.).
  • Serve as primary liaison to Financial Aid Registrar Admissions and housing
  • Develop a comprehensive educational compliance program for all coaches student-athletes faculty staff alumni and boosters.
  • Develop and implement athletics compliance policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and file reports waivers and appeals to the appropriate governing bodies within the NCAA and Sunshine State Conference.
  • Coordinate and execute NCAA forms including but not limited to; contact evaluation forms phone logs declaration of season forms and NCAA eligibility forms.
  • Responsible for ARMS and Compliance Assistant operations
  • Prepare National Letters of Intent Financial Aid agreements and assist coaches with student-athlete recruitment needs.
  • Serves as a member of the athletic departments senior management team
  • Supervise the Assistant Director for Compliance position
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with campus constituents students and coaches
  • Ability to work nights weekends and other hours as necessary

Minimum qualifications

  • Masters degree (M. A.) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with NCAA Compliance Administration.
