The City of Abbotsfords Procurement Division is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Parts Person to join our dynamic team. This journeyman-level position plays a key role in supporting the maintenance and repair of a wide range of municipal equipment and infrastructure. You will be responsible for sourcing purchasing and supplying parts materials and services while ensuring timely delivery and accurate inventory management. This role requires strong problem-solving skills the ability to work independently and a commitment to excellent customer service.
You will work closely with internal departments and external vendors using your knowledge of automotive and heavy-duty parts to identify substitute or modify components as needed. Your ability to manage inventory systems process invoices and operate equipment such as forklifts will contribute to the smooth operation of our fleet services.
As our ideal candidate you will have:
- Completion of one of the following:
- Parts Person 3 ITA Inter-Provincial Trade Certificate of Qualification or
- CPIM APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management or
- SMT SCMA Supply Management Training Diploma;
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience;
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification;
- Valid Class 5 B.C. Drivers Licence.
This position is unionized CUPE Local 774 with an hourly rate of pay from $32.43 - $38.17 plus a comprehensive benefits package. Please note the successful applicant will be required to provide a current and clean Drivers Abstract and complete a satisfactory Police Information Check prior to the start date.
