Job Description

Posting Summary
The Nielsen Fruit Entomology laboratory at Rutgers University is seeking one or two Post Doctoral Associates to conduct research on key pests of fruit. Research responsibilities include biopesticide resistance bioassays on codling moth and research methods to improve IPM programs for key and emerging fruit pests. Expansion of research projects to evaluate the population ecology and/or behavioral characteristics is encouraged. The post-doc will be responsible for rearing codling moth and other insect colonies from geographically distinct areas. Studies will be conducted in the laboratory and field at the recently renovated Rutgers Agricultural Research and Extension Center ( RAREC ) in Bridgeton NJ. The successful applicant(s) will also work on improving IPM programs in Mid-Atlantic farms which may require setting up research sites on collaborating farms and collaborations with stakeholders. The successful candidate(s) is expected to work collaboratively with other experts at the USDA other Universities and private industry. Expertise in resistance management IPM and statistics preferred with evidence of strong scientific writing.
