Job Description

smartdept. is searching for a Manager of International Compliance for a financial services client located in Riverwoods IL. The ideal candidate will come with 3 years of experience in financial services or payment services with a strong background in complaint management data analysis and campaign development. This is a hybrid 18-month contract opportunity with the possibility of full-time conversion. The role requires three days per week onsite in Riverwoods or downtown Chicago. Start date is ASAP.
This newly created role is designed to manage and resolve international customer complaints particularly those related to card services while also proactively identifying and addressing emerging issues through data-driven campaigns. You will play a critical part in building a new international compliance team collaborating with both local and U.S.-based colleagues and supporting business improvements through actionable insights and marketing initiatives.
What Youll Do:
  • Receive analyze and resolve international customer card complaints managing issues from start to finish
  • Conduct research and fact-finding on merchants and complaint sources providing actionable information to client-facing support teams
  • Identify patterns in complaint data develop and support proactive campaigns to address root causes and prevent future issues
  • Track activities complaints and campaign results using Salesforce; pull review and interpret reports to inform business decisions
  • Build and implement action plans based on findings to support resolution and continuous improvement
  • Assist in developing marketing support materials for internal teams and acceptance partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including U.S. compliance to ensure timely and accurate communication and resolution
  • Support campaign strategy with data analysis marketing insight and project management
What Youll Need:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services or payment services with a strong focus on complaint management and data analysis
  • Advanced proficiency with Salesforce for data entry activity tracking reporting and sharing
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data synthesize information and generate actionable insights
  • Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns to address customer issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Self-starter mentality and project management skills comfortable building processes in a new role
Education/Experience:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3 years of relevant experience in financial services payment services or a related field
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience in sales or client support
  • Familiarity with international business practices and compliance regulations
  • Background in campaign management or marketing communications
Additional Details:
  • Team size: 7 people (new international team)
  • Work schedule: Hybrid 3 days onsite in Riverwoods or Chicago
  • Contract length: 18 months with potential for full-time conversion
  • Interview process: 3 rounds (with hiring manager team member and U.S. compliance representative)
  • KPIs: To be developed likely including analysis/reporting issue resolution and campaign effectiveness
