Job Description
The PreK-8th Grade Art teachers responsibilities include sourcing art supplies preparing lessons and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques. She/he should also be able to supervise lessons to ensure that learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner. The teacher would need to be comfortable with technology integration utilizing Chromebook and G-Suite applications.
Essential Functions
- Provide grade-appropriate instructional programs for students in grades PreK-8 in the field of visual arts.
- Maintains an attractive organized and engaging learning environment.
- Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study.
- Uses relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.
- Maintains appropriate classroom management through positive behavioral interventions and supports.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of students progress in PowerSchool.
- Provides regular and consistent communication with parents students staff and administration.
- Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before during or after school including lunch duties recess duties dismissal duties and any other duties assigned by the administration.
- Participates in faculty meetings school committees and in-service learning opportunities.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in education or higher.
- Current MSDE certification or able to obtain certification within 2 years.
- Knowledge of the Catholic faith is preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable with technology to include GSuite Google Classroom Interactive projectors etc.
Range: $35000 - $50000 Annualized
