Rutgers is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst I for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies located in New Brunswick NJ. The Senior Financial Analyst I will be responsible for conducting financial analysis projects and statistical studies. Coordinates formulation monitoring and presentation of budgets for controlling funds to implement program objectives of organization. Duties include: Prepares budget for units within the Institute based on organizations performance estimated revenue expense reports and past budget numbers. Supports the Institutes annual RBHS budget preparation. Prepares financial analysis and consults with project PIs to monitor progress and ensure adjustments are made in accordance with program changes to facilitate long-term planning; includes the monitoring of subawards. Reviews and approves expenditures of departments to ensure compliance with budget and allowability according to sponsor policy and compliance with Rutgers policy

The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (formerly Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies) is undergoing dynamic and transformative growth. The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is one of the nations leading tobacco focused research centers and its faculty have received over $50 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. The Institutes efforts are focused on their mission of reducing and ultimately eliminating tobacco-related morbidity and mortality. Five Centers or Programs currently operate at the Institute including a Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science the Center of Excellence for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco the Tobacco Dependence Program a Tobacco Industry Marketing Program and a Tobacco Control Law & Policy Resource Center.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials preferred. Strong experience managing a large portfolio of sponsored Grants and Contracts from various types of Sponsoring Agencies preferred. Strong knowledge of Research grants and contracts budgeting and federal guidelines/regulations pertaining to Research and Development preferred.
