Job Description

The Opportunity: 

We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning team in El Segundo CA. You will play a critical role in supporting the financial management of Mattels largest divisions. This is an opportunity to coordinate with internal finance organizations including Strategic Planning Controllers office Operations Finance Sales Finance and Global Brand Teams for key inputs to the financial planning and forecasting process. The role will report directly to the Director FP&A North America Commercial Finance

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Responsibilities range from providing various management reports for monthly and quarter end close to forecast support for the US and Canada commercial groups. Analyzing budgeting forecasting and variance analysis as well as identify risk opportunities and underlying cost drivers to wider Finance function. The role will be responsible for:

  • Month End Close In partnership with the Accounting team responsible for the management reporting and variance analysis. Prepare and extend visibility of key financial metrics and reports across wider NAD commercial org
  • Forecasts (AOP and in-year reforecasts) Collaborate with key stakeholders on financial targets assessments and communications. Prepare volume estimates and support planning activities preparing template to facilitate submission reviewing volume and profitability walks and HPT upload
  • Establish and maintain 3-4 year future business projections
  • Represent the Finance point-of-view at cross-functional meetings with business units such as Sales Marketing GSC and Demand Planning
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate policy and Sarbanes Oxley requirements

Qualifications :

What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting or another Business-related discipline
  • CPA preferred
  • 3 years of experience in FP&A or similar role; experience in FMCG industry would be beneficial
  • HFM/ HPT / Oracle experience a plus
  • Advanced MS Office Excel skills
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills; ability to liaise with people at all levels across the business
  • Experience of dealing with both finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to think creatively highly-driven self-motivated and intellectually curious
  • Ability to collaborate lead/facilitate meetings and develop/maintain relationships across the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives
  • Sound business judgment and ability to influence groups and/or more senior associates.
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis. Exhibits knowledge in current and possible future trends affecting the business
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning embracing challenges and improving themselves. 

The annual base salary range for this position is between $90400 and $107000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidates work location skills and experience. Mattel offers competitive total pay programs comprehensive benefits and resources to help empower a culture where every employee can reach their full potential.
