Job Description

The Opportunity Te Whiwhinga mahi

You will be a member of a team of high-performing Project Managers working across a wide portfolio of capital works projects ensuring successful delivery. The role will focus on opportunities to lead estate wide asset renewal efforts deliver sustainability and carbon-net zero initiatives manage building refurbishment projects and implementation of teaching and outdoor space related projects.  

Some key aspects and responsibilities include:

  • Brief Development Leading the process of brief development with end users and stakeholders across the University.
  • Project Design Leading the design team to deliver sustainable design solutions.
  • Business Case Development Lending and informing the business case and ensuring progress through to approval.
  • Project Procurement Oversee / Manage the preparation of tender documents calling and evaluation of tenders and letting of contracts.
  • Construction Management - Lead and manage internal/external construction management teams
  • Commissioning - Analyse organise and managing commissioning and other close out activities
  • Stakeholder Management - Manage the process of external and internal stakeholder engagement
  • Strategic and Risk management - Ensure that appropriate strategic and risk management processes are in place
  • Health & Safety and Equity Development

This is a full-time permanent opportunity. Salary banding starts at $130k.

You are committed to delivering excellence across every project consistently achieving high standards in quality sustainability and budget performance. From minor refurbishments to major capital developments your strategic planning and delivery expertise ensure impactful outcomes that enhance the Universitys built environment.

Your proven experience spans the full project lifecyclefrom design coordination and stakeholder engagement to procurement contract administration financial oversight and reporting. This is supported by a relevant tertiary qualification and ideally professional membership (or associate membership) of a recognised body.

Your success is driven by your ability to communicate with influence and build strong relationships. You thrive in collaborative environments bringing a customer-focused mindset strong negotiation skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.
