Job Description
This role supports chef and cooks in a kitchen by performing various tasks to ensure smooth and efficient food preparation and service. This includes tasks like preparing ingredients cleaning and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. a crucial member of the kitchen team providing essential support to ensure smooth operations and contribute to the overall success of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation:
Assisting with tasks like washing peeling chopping cutting and measuring ingredients. This may include preparing vegetables meats and other food items according to recipes and the chefs instructions.
- Dishwashing and Cleaning:
Washing dishes utensils pots pans and cleaning kitchen equipment work areas and floors. Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment is a priority.
- Stocking and Organization:
Assisting with receiving and storing food and supplies organizing ingredients and maintaining stock levels.
- Supporting Cooks:
Helping with various cooking tasks as directed such as monitoring cooking processes stirring sauces or plating dishes.
- Sanitation and Safety:
Ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met and following proper sanitation and safety protocols.
Qualifications :
- Advanced Cooking Skills: experience with food preparation tasks is important.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Teamwork and Communication: Working effectively with chefs cooks and other kitchen staff.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in food preparation and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Knowledge of Food Safety: Understanding basic food safety and hygiene principles.
