Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Lead to develop drive and deliver cost schedule risk and performance reporting for a multi-billion-dollar major program in Kincardine Ontario.

This leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong background in project controls set up and delivery within complex regulated environments such as nuclear energy or large-scale infrastructure. The project is at initiation stage and as such the successful individual must be willing to be actively engaged with the client team developing effective project reporting mechanisms and solutions based on client needs and also strategise and think longer term developing solutions for multi-phased multi-year programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of integrated project controls systems including cost management scheduling risk and change control.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of project baselines and ensure alignment with project objectives and contractual requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate schedule development and updates using tools such as Primavera P6 ensuring accurate progress tracking and forecasting.
  • Monitor project performance through earned value management (EVM) variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide leadership in cost control including budget development cost tracking forecasting and reporting.
  • Facilitate risk management processes including identification assessment mitigation planning and reporting.
  • Support project governance through regular reporting dashboards and presentations to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers finance engineering and procurement teams to ensure data integrity and alignment across functions.
  • Mentor and guide junior project controls staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Finance or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in project controls with at least 3 years in a leadership role on large infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 cost management tools (e.g. Prism EcoSys) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of earned value management scheduling techniques and risk management.
  • Experience in the nuclear or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
  • Willingness to work on-site within the client environment at Kincardine three days per week. Expenses for travel and accommodation will be paid by Turner & Townsend.
