Our flagship campus is in Sydney Australia but with many of our Canvanauts calling the Philippines home our office in Manila is a buzzing place. This role is encouraged to be on an on-site setup so weve created an environment that truly empowers you to thrive.
What youd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.
Join Canva as our Facilities and Safety Lead ensuring local compliance in our Manila office while actively driving global strategic initiatives. As a global connector and disruptor youll elevate our facilities and safety standards oversee and streamline vendor management and champion innovative processes across Canvas international campuses. Your strategic steer and guidance will ensure a safer more efficient workplace experience locally while raising the bar on global best practices and empowering Canvanauts everywhere to thrive. This is an individual contributor role focused on operational excellence and strategic collaboration.
At the moment this role is focused on:
- Owning daily operations of Canvas Manila office ensuring it runs smoothly safely and to a consistently high standard
- Managing vendor relationships and performance across cleaning security maintenance and workplace services
- Partnering with the Global Facilities Lead and Space Creation team to implement global tools processes and workplace programs
- Leading preventative maintenance initiatives promptly resolving issues and ensuring compliance with local safety and building regulations
- Overseeing construction projects as the core representative of Canvas Space Creation team in the Philippines
- Supporting moves additions changes and minor facility projects within the office space
- Providing accurate reporting and valuable insights on space usage team feedback and vendor performance
- Collaborating closely with the Global Design Build and Experience teams to ensure facilities reflect Canvas cultural and operational objectives
Youre probably a match if:
- You have significant experience managing facilities operations workplace safety and vendor relationships in a global multinational or multi-site environment.
- Youre passionate and has experience in creating exceptional regional or global workplace experiences and thrive when driving strategic improvements.
- You hold a Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) certification and have relevant experience as a Safety Officer 3 (SO3).
- You bring hands-on experience in construction project management preferably as a core representative or lead
- You possess strong stakeholder management skills effectively collaborating across global teams and diverse functions.
- Youre comfortable challenging existing processes to raise standards and consistently improve workplace safety and efficiency.
- Youre organized detail-oriented and skilled at balancing compliance with practical operational excellence.
- Youre comfortable working full-time onsite and are open to being on-call especially during emergency situations
