Job Description
We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector for a weekly (one day a week) inspection in Pittsburgh Kansas for the next several weeks. (until September)
Typically the inspections would require visual/physical inspection witness of testing review of QA/QC documentation including MTRs.
Each inspection completed would require the inspector to issue a report of findings within the specific time limit.
The Inspector will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement/sub-contractor agreement (1099) with SGS North America Inc.
Each time an inspection is completed an invoice with a time sheet is expected to pay the inspector for the completed job. Normal payment terms of the contract is 15 to 20 days after receipt of invoice.
Qualifications :
- Electrical and/or Instrumentation Journeyman.
- Other E&I Trade Certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with inspection work.
- Understanding and familiarity with the applicable codes and standards such as NEC IEEE and ANSI plus relevant safety regulations.
- Capable of understanding the schematic wiring drawings.
- Candidates will have working knowledge of PLC and associated instruments.
- Candidates will have experience around LV MV and HV equipment such as switchgear protection devices.
- The ideal candidates will have inspection experience in the Oil & Gas industry and Power and Utility.
- Must be able to read understand and follow work instructions in a safe accurate and timely manner.
- Candidates must be proficient in using several types of computer software (Word Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Depending on educational qualification trainings/certification and experience the pay range will be $35 to $55 per hour. Mileage for round trip driving will be reimbursed at cost. For extended traveling when needed all expense items will be reimbursed at cost against receipts.
- Work schedule: Once a week for several weeks.
