About the position
Cox Automotive is seeking a Battery Repair Technician to work as part of the existing team within the EV Battery Solutions (EVBS) division. The position involves diagnosis and repair of various EV batteries ensuring that all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards. Following pre-set guidelines you will be responsible for the end-to-end battery repair process ensuring all actions are reported and documented.
Responsibilities
- Utilise specialist tools & software to validate & diagnose battery issues and identify approved repair solutions
- Complete battery repair work including replacing components and parts in line with pre-set work instructions to ensure full compliance
- Complete quality checks on work completed to ensure the highest standards are maintained
- Ensure that all work is completed in line with customer and company requirements
- Document all work performed throughout the process including details of all tooling parts and tests to provide a clear audit trail
- Work closely with the engineering team to support root cause analysis and the development of improved processes and techniques
- Comply with all health & safety requirements ensuring safe operations and a safe work environment
Requirements
- At least 3 years experience working with batteries (preferred) or vehicles
- Understanding of EV battery chemistry systems and diagnostics highly preferred
- Experience working with high voltage systems
- Proficiency in handling tools and equipment used in battery testing and repair
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Adherence to safety protocols when working with batteries
- Strong communication skills to explain technical information
