Under direct supervision performs tasks involved in the preparation and distribution of medications checked by a licensed Nuclear Pharmacy Technician assists the Nuclear Pharmacist with many functions in the Nuclear Pharmacy to include the dispensing of radiopharmaceutical doses in syringes; generator elutions; quality control testing; packaging shipping and receiving of inventory both radioactive materials and otherwise.
Duties:
- Radiopharmaceutical dispensing: Dispensing individual radiopharmaceutical patient doses. Organizes medications for pharmacists to dispense inputting prescription orders accurately preparing labels calculating quantities and filling orders. Fills requests for filling clinic stock orders and documents order.
- Generator Elution: Performance of the elution process which is the saline-extraction of the Tc99m isotope from the Technetium Generator for use in the compounding of most radiopharmaceuticals.
- Quality Control: Performance of quality control procedures in the testing of compounded radiopharmaceuticals a pass/fail system of checking the final product for certain quality requirements. Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with the University policies and procedures along with OK State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
- Final dose packaging and shipping: Assistance with and coordination of dose packaging and delivery to clients.
- Inventory Maintenance: maintains pharmacy inventory levels by reviewing inventory on hand. Appropriately stocks both patients completed orders as well as new inventory stock.
- As needed: Performs related duties as assigned or as required to successfully fulfill function of the position. May be called upon to perform any other various duties or special projects in the lab as needed.
Required Education: High School diploma or GEDAND:
- This position allows for on-the-job-training and licensure.

Certifications:
- Pharmacy Technician permit issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy OR the ability to obtain an Oklahoma State Board for Pharmacy permit within 90 days from hire date.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Physical: Must be able to work on feet or sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Environmental: Indoors under controlled environment.
