Within the Office of Manufactured Housing Division of the Arizona Department of Housing this position will enforce existing State laws and regulations mandated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) with regard to the installation of mobile homes manufactured homes and factory-build buildings (FBB). These functions support the Divisions mission to maintain standard of quality and safety for manufactured homes and FBBs and the consumers of these products. Inspectors also mentor installation licensees and Registrar of Contractors licensees who perform work on site where the installation occurs as part of continuous improvement. Other duties as assigned.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely in Arizona to include in-office hoteling based on the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Within the Office of Manufactured Housing Division of the Arizona Department of Housing this position inspects and audits manufactured home installation for compliance with HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards the Manufactured Home Installation and Storage Standards Manufactured Housing Installation Rules and Regulations and as required by Arizona Revised Statutes and Arizona Administrative Code Title 4 Chapter 34. Inspects the installation of mobile homes and factory built buildings for compliance with the requirements of Arizona Revised Statutes and Arizona Administrative Code Title 4 Chapter 34. Schedule daily inspections and author reports to reflect the results of inspections and maintains records of inspection and investigation activity. Other duties as assigned.

Candidate must have knowledge of Federal and State statutes rules and guidelines related to the Agency and the industry; working knowledge of International Building Codes and HUD codes for construction of manufactured homes; knowledge of construction and manufacturing related to residential and commercial factory-built-buildings. Ability to read and understand engineered design plans. Skill in preparing reports; good verbal communications in the field among peers and with Agency management; managing software applications i.e. MS Word and Excel. Ability to communicate and work with diverse populations. Candidate must have valid Arizona Drivers License; International Code Council (or equivalent) certification in an appropriate category at time of hire or within one year of hire date.
