Job Description
JOB TITLE: Materials Assistant/ Surgical Technologist
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Surgical technologists also called scrubs and surgical or operating room technicians assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons registered nurses or other surgical personnel. Surgical technologists are members of operating room teams which most commonly include surgeons anesthesiologists and circulating nurses.
Under the direction of the Materials Manager performs a variety of planning procuring and sometimes distribution of supplies equipment and services for the surgical centers. Performs value analysis activities as necessary. Assist A/P with reconciliation of invoices. Serves as a liaison between surgery center Materials Managers and corporate Materials Manager.
