POSITION OBJECTIVE
Professional Specialized Services (PSS) requires one (1) Full-Time Social Worker or one (1) Full Time Psychotherapist.
This position will be based at the Hamilton location but travel will be required throughout Niagara Hamilton Brant Haldimand and Norfolk.
Promoting Bethesdas Vison Mission Values and quality care the Social WorkerPsychotherapist will provide counseling intervention and treatment to individuals who have experienced grief trauma social emotional difficulties victimization abuse inter-personal relationship difficulties or post-traumatic stress through a holistic care approach.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and identify treatment goals/recommendations and number of service hours independently.
- Provide short- term psychotherapy including cognitive behavioural therapy dialectical behaviour therapy acceptance and commitment therapy psychodynamic therapy client-centered therapy cross-cultural counselling trauma informed as well as other treatment modalities to individuals with mental health concerns including individuals with comorbid and complex mental health difficulties.
- Provide clinical intake assessments to identify symptoms experienced by the individual within services and to inform individualized treatment plans (e.g. treatment goals therapeutic modalities).
- Present assessment results clinical recommendations and treatment reports to caregivers and community partners when appropriate.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical treatment plans and update as necessary.
- Facilitates appropriate internal and community referrals.
- Collaborate with Community Partners and Interdisciplinary Team Members.
- Provide Brief Clinical Consultation Services.
- Provide Resource Consultation Services.
- Facilitate community connections program registrations and referrals and share resources.
- Develop curriculum and resources for individual and group based treatment services.
- Write Reports Programs and Service Plans independently.
- Investigate ideas and plan the integration of engaging community activities into service options.
- Coordinate scheduling with Manager Adult Clinical Services.
- Develop and facilitate training opportunities for Adult Clinical Services staff and Community Partners.
- Actively participate in administrative team meetings.
- Collect and analyze data.
- Actively participate in team meetings and provide suggestions creative ideas and recommendations for strengthening Adult Clinical Services.
- Comply with Bethesda policies and procedures relating to health and safety.
- Responsible for reporting all health and safety concerns immediately following the Internal Responsibility System.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Advertised wage is top of grid. Actual wage will fluctuate based on qualifications
- Masters Degree in Social Work is required or Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology
- Must be registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario OR be registered as a Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers
- Strong working knowledge of psychotherapeutic interventions and psychopathology.
- Experience providing psychotherapy services to clients with a diverse range of mental health concerns (e.g. anxiety disorders mood disorders personality disorders neurodevelopmental disorders trauma).
- Knowledge of Art and Play based therapies
- Experience creating and carrying out treatment plans.
- Experience supporting individuals with comorbid and complex mental health difficulties.
- Ability to accurately assess a critical situation and respond effectively (e.g. suicide risk assessments).
- Skilled in evaluating individual needs and determining the most appropriate intervention.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities.
- Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Valid Drivers License.
- First Aid Training and CPR Certification.
- Professional Communication Skills: professionally represents the company through strong communication skills both oral and written.
- Teamwork: excels at working with others and communicating with a team to provide the most effective support to clients.
- Problem-Solving: able to navigate challenges and barriers always looks for potential pitfalls and risks to help mitigate problems ahead of time and knows when to ask for help.
