Job Duties

The Department of Biology at Norfolk State University invites applications for a one-year term position at the rank of Instructor. The department offers a diversity of options that are outlined in three curriculum models each of which leads to a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Applicants are encouraged to visit for more information on the Department of Biology.

We seek candidates who are broadly trained in the field of biology having the capabilities to teach both introductory level and upper-level biology courses. The department is particularly interested in candidates with experience teaching General Biology and Anatomy & Physiology.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. M.S. or Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field with broad training in biology.
  2. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with students from a variety of backgrounds.

Additional Considerations

  1. Evidence of ability to teach general biology for majors and non-majors and/or anatomy & physiology courses.
