Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is seeking an experienced leader to fill the key role of Manager of Regional Dental Program.

We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees physicians and partners in care. What Youll Do:
  • Up to date with dental practice guidelines from RCDSO CDHO and ODAA including a thorough understanding of H.A.R.P. regulations and dental radiography standards to ensure all clinical staff maintain their scope of practice
  • Thorough understanding of OR functionality with respect to dental equipment instruments and IT systems to support time-sensitive surgery appointments (adult and pediatric). Address the urgency and prioritization of OR cases collaborating closely with the OR Ininew Patient Services and transportation staff to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
  • Provide knowledgeable and adept oversight of EMR systems (AbelDENT and MEDITECH) to ensure accurate clinical documentation per RCDSO standards maintain patient scheduling across platforms and generate performance reports for the Moose Factory and coastal clinics.
  • Sustain ongoing commitments to COHI and ensure proper utilization of allocated funding within the WAHA Dental Program including COHI dental hygienist salary promotional activities / travel and supply purchase
  • Build and maintain cross-organizational relationships with key community stakeholders in Moose Factory Moosonee and the coastal communities including Mushkegowuk Council MCFN Health Centres Porcupine Health Unit and ISC Health Centres to advance oral health awareness and promotion initiatives
  • Identify interview hire and orient dentists (in collaboration with Physician Services) as well as dental hygienists and dental assistants (with HR) to meet WAHAs staffing needs and standards
What You Bring:
  • A Masters of health science/ management and or related field- within the dental realm preferred
  • Undergraduate health sciences degree or related field- within the dental realm preferred
  • Applicant should have 1-3 years of relevant Management experience in a related field within the dental realm preferred
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills/facilitation skills
  • Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset
