Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager will make use of Key Account Management and Sales Target Tracking best practices to grow and develop sales with new and existing customers.

This role is responsible for selling Shamrocks products and technologies promoting our capabilities and potential to maximize profitability and sales. As the primary client liaison the Regional Sales Manager provides consultative support and leads negotiations to secure profitable deals within their territory and customer base.

Essential Functions

Account Management

  • Grow and maintain sales to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of Shamrocks products and technologies to sell our capabilities and possibilities.
  • Create and develop successful customer relationships using Key Account Management principles act as the primary point of contact between Shamrock and customers. Keep those relationships updated on new products and services.
  • Lead customer negotiations that grow sales enhance profitability and solidify client partnerships.
  • Analyze and understand customer needs work closely with the product support and other internal teams to secure technical product approvals & profitable sales that meet those needs. Communicate customer needs internally as needed.
  • Prepare and conduct customer meetings document visit reports for all customer interactions agreements proposals & quotations using CRM.
  • Track customer demand to report timely and accurate forecasts and analysis of sales performance.
  • Work with the customer service group to ensure customer satisfaction in sales order fulfilment timely shipments and resolving customer complaints.
  • Work with Regulatory to ensure compliance of products with all regulations.
  • Lead distributor relationships to maximize sales potential.
  • Work within Global Key Account teams as required to ensure success with specific global accounts.

Business Development

  • Create sustainable growth by continuously expanding Shamrocks customer base.
  • Proactively search for new business opportunities and monitor potential customers in the market.
  • Engage with identified prospects using a strategic approach to grow sales using CRM to track and close new Sales Opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis as necessary: monitor the competitive landscape assessing Shamrocks market position and anticipating product developments taking proactive measures as necessary.
  • Track and maintain market data including market growth competitor news new customer needs and market trends.
  • Attend industry exhibitions/events to network with new and existing customers and to identify new market opportunities.
  • Other objectives as required by management and strategy.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in chemistry science business administration; Masters and MBA preferred.
  • 5 years of related experience in sales marketing and/or technical product marketing required.
  • Related sales experience in the chemical manufacturing industry. Coatings Polymers Adhesives or Chemical Additives strongly preferred.

Professional Skills

  • Business acumen demonstrate knowledge of the market competition risk management and strong direction for profitability. Align plans with strategic goals.
  • Commercial ability Act on the basis of market opportunities and estimate their commercial value.
  • Customer orientation Examine the needs and wishes of the customer and act accordingly taking into account the costs and benefits for the own organization. Show the willingness to find a solution.
  • Results driven take concrete and targeted actions to achieve or exceed objectives.
  • Analytical collects and researches data. Uses knowledge and experience to complement data and designs workflow and procedures.
  • Experience and knowledge of CRM Key Account Management and related sales approaches.
  • Technical skills advanced understanding of basic chemistry terminology and its relationships to the product line of the market segment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) interpersonal and professional interactive skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and inter-department staff. Capable of working with internal staff in a proactive and constructive manner.

FLSA Classification: Exempt and reports to the Sales Director.
