Job Description

POSITION TITLE: K-2 STEP Teacher Sgt. Jordan Shay Memorial Lower Elementary School SUPERVISOR: Building Principal SALARY RANGE: Per Teacher ContractStudent Profile Students in the STEP program are identified as students withDevelopmental Delay Intellectual Impairment Communication Autismor other complex learning needs. Students may have challenges in theiracademic language/communication social self-help and behavior skilldevelopment. All students require intensive highly specialized andindividualized instruction and support to access Description: STEP is a substantially separate program designed to support grade K-2 students with intensive special education needs. Studentsrequire a small group learning environment with a low student to staffratio. Students attend a full school Description:Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and competence of subject matter associated with teaching the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times lessons for all content technology into lessons to support student achievement. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the students to set and maintain standards of classroom to implement by instruction and action the districts philosophy of education and instructional goals and all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and accurate complete and correct records as required by law School Committee Policy and administrative in upholding and enforcing school rules administrative regulations and School Committee a share of responsibility for supervising and monitoring both formal and informal non-classroom to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned professional meetings educational conferences and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional staff meetings and serve on committees as with other teachers and paraprofessionals as appropriate and necessary.
