About the workplace

Were looking for an Account Manager Special Accounts to join our Retail Credit Team. You are someone who thrives in a highly complex work environment is a strategic thinker and has strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

This is a permanent full-time role that will enjoy remote working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and/or your Lower Mainland based home office.

A typical day would involve:

  • Monitor a portfolio of high-risk business loans and complex unresolved collection problems to mitigate risk exposure and potential losses
  • Monitor the preparation and underwriting of all applications for credit. Provide ongoing monitoring of loan quality and initiate or recommend remedial action where required to minimize loan losses
  • Prepare the Special Accounts reports and Watch List reports and initiate follow-up reports as required. Monitor delinquency reports to ensure all delinquencies are resolved and propose recommendations for next course of action in order to mitigate potential loss. Assess the risk exposure and anticipate any potential losses. Estimate loan loss provision (if any) for each account.
  • Maintain relationships and liaise with outside agencies (eg. lawyers) in order to facilitate the timely and accurate processing of credit applications (eg. foreclosures legal bills).
  • Maintain relationships with business members which includes guidance and counselling to members in financial difficulty that is consistent with Vancitys Differentiated Member Experience and aligned with established service and quality standards in order to support portfolio performance

You have:

  • Undergraduate degree or university level diploma in Finance Economics Accounting or Business Administration
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing business accounts and portfolios
  • Experience in Banking or a Financial Institution is an asset

  • A critical thinker you like using your research and analytical skills to perform qualitative/quantitative analysis apply accepted methods and techniques to carry out analytical procedures
  • Detail-oriented you do your research and use those analytical skills to assess and recommend course of action on industry political and economic trends. You can also identify risks and opportunities that may impact the business.
  • Tech-savvy People often say youre a quick learner and great with technology & systems
  • An Exceptional Communicator & Negotiator leveraging your communication and interpersonal skills you build strong relationships with your members and business partners enabling effective communication and problem-solving.

The salary range for this role is $71500 to $107300 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications skills previous experience and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program subject to program eligibility requirements.
