Job Description

Working title: Accreditation Coordinator

Classification title: Program Coordinator 1

Division: Public Health Services

Program: Public Health Services

Reports to: Senior Director Community Health & Safety

FLSA status: Non-Exempt; Full-time

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm occasional evenings and weekends

Wage Range: $22.75 to $29.54 hourly; depending on number of years of transferrable experience and internal equity

Division and Program Overview:

Public Health Services exists to improve the life health and safety of Yellowstone County residents at the population level. Services include the prevention of poor health outcomes protection of the public through immunizations and health inspections the promotion of healthy behaviors and more.

Job Summary:

Coordinates and oversees the daily operations of public health accreditation and quality improvement including projects policies training and services.

Essential Functions/Major Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Program Coordinator Responsibilities 20%

  • Coordinate efforts associated with the preparation of regulatory documents or submissions.

  • Review public health protocols to ensure collection of data needed for regulatory submissions.

  • Participate in internal or external audits.

  • Compile and maintain regulatory documentation databases or systems.

  • Maintain current knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations standards or guidance documents.

  • Identify relevant guidance documents international standards or consensus standards.

  • Interpret regulatory rules or rule changes and ensure that they are communicated through policies and procedures.

  • Maintain relevant inventories of supplies.

  • Provide or coordinate services for guests patients staff as necessary.

  • Participates in quality improvement and Emergency Preparedness activities.

B. Public Health Accreditation and Quality Improvement 75%

  • Responsible for all aspects of accreditation coordination including building and maintaining partnerships work plan development and implementation trainings evaluation communications deadlines and required reports.
  • Educate public health staff on the purpose and tools of accreditation.
  • Provide effective strategic and technical support to public health staff.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate regular oral and written communication about project goals accreditation and quality improvement.
  • Coordinate and communicate with PHS and RiverStone Health leadership regarding work being implemented and required reporting.
  • Perform effective public speaking to groups with varied interests and backgrounds regarding public health standards and functions specifically the Foundational Public Health Services.
  • Actively participate in monthly Montana accreditation network calls.
  • Provide evaluation assistance to public health teams including survey development administration analysis data visualization and reporting in conjunction with the Epidemiologist as part of an evaluation team.
  • Provide technical assistance and community outreach for special projects and other programs as needed within the department.
  • Lead and facilitate process improvement teams within public health and direct timely completion of projects that support critical goals and customer satisfaction requirements.
  • Responsible for all aspects of project management including planning and executing projects that meet cost resource and outcome expectations.
  • Facilitate all aspects of meetings including complex scheduling agenda setting assigning follow-up and promoting accountability with team members to move project forward.
  • Design coordinate and deliver relevant staff trainings regarding organizational innovation best practices and public health quality improvement approaches to support skill development including during the organizational innovation segment of New Employee Orientation to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate the vision of RiverStone Health Organizational Innovation and the linkage to RiverStone Healths organizational culture and strategic goals and objectives to public health staff as a liaison to the Organizational Innovation team.

Non-Essential Functions/Other duties as assigned 5%

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the RiverStones mission and goals.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • Equivalent of two (2) years experience in a directly related field

  • Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

  • Strong writing abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in related field

  • Experience in public health and/or accreditation standards

  • Experience in quality improvement and evaluation

Certificates Licenses Registrations:

  • None

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer literacy including Excel Outlook and Word

  • Thorough knowledge of the administrative policies and procedures of the agency

  • Thorough knowledge of modern office procedures practices and equipment

  • Ability to manage time sensitive projects and meet deadlines in an accurate manner

  • Knowledge and understanding of protected sensitive patient health information (HIPAA) and confidentiality.

Supervision:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Create and maintain a safe/secure working environment by adhering to safety security and health requirements. Integrates injury illness and loss prevention into job activities by attending any necessary training and implementing best practices.
  • 30% of travel time required for outreach activities and educational presentations. This includes overnight stays by vehicle and plane.
  • Use of repetitive motion
  • Standing bending sitting required
  • Frequent lifting up to 25lbs occasionally up to 50lbs
  • Frequent interaction with RiverStone employees in various settings including clinical spaces where exposure to bloodborne pathogens may occur
  • May be expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting seeing and reading signs traffic signals other vehicles etc. Travel occurs in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

Freedom to Act & Decision Making:

  • Responsible for program databases and reporting supervised by a Program Manager Program Director or VP.

Communications & Networking:

  • Daily written and verbal communication with clinical staff as well as other medical and social service providers. Frequent participation in conference calls. Generates correspondence for purposes of policy updates/reminders to coordinate audits of facilities or to schedule clinics.
