Overview
As a Senior/Principal Data Scientist at Zonos you will be a key technical leader in developing and implementing data-driven solutions that improve global e-commerce. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams to design advanced analytics systems deploy machine learning models and translate business needs into impactful scalable insights. This role will focus on advanced analytics and problem-solving to enhance the cross-border trade experience for businesses and consumers. This role goes beyond individual model development youll help shape our data science strategy influence product direction and drive innovation across the organization.
What you will do...
- Design and implement machine learning models and analytics to solve business problems and improve customer experience at scale.
- Collaborate with product managers engineers and business stakeholders to identify data-driven opportunities for enhancing global trade.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines ensuring reliable data for analysis and model development.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends patterns and actionable insights for the business.
- Develop forecasting recommendation and optimization models to improve business outcomes.
- Communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable way.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in data science and machine learning to bring new ideas to the team.

What you bring:
- Want to live in sunny St George and enjoy a healthy work-life balance;
- A Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science Computer Science Statistics or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in data science machine learning or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R along with experience in data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g. pandas NumPy SciPy).
- Experience working with machine learning frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn TensorFlow PyTorch) to build and deploy models.
- Strong understanding of statistical techniques and data analysis methods (e.g. regression classification clustering time series analysis).
- Experience with large datasets and data pipelines using tools like SQL Spark or cloud-based services (e.g. AWS GCP or Azure).
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to turn business challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Strong communication skills capable of explaining technical concepts to business stakeholders.
- A proactive and self-driven approach to working in a collaborative fast-paced environment.
What we offer:
- $140k to $180k Actual salaries will vary based on various factors such as education experience training scope etc. The salary noted is just one component of our total compensation package.
