Job Description
The Smart Home team is focused on making Alexa the user interface for the home. From the simplest voice commands (turn on the lights turn down the heat) to use cases spanning home security home entertainment and the home environment we are evolving Alexa into an intelligent indispensable companion that automates daily routines simplifies interactions with appliances and electronics and alerts when something unusual is detected. You will be part of a team delivering features that are highly anticipated by the media and well received by our customers.

Key job responsibilities
Android/iOS/React Native development
Backend software development design and prototyping
Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative consumer-facing distributed system backend architectures
Write clean maintainable code and perform peer code reviews
Write tests for new and existing code to achieve 100% code coverage
Work with team members to investigate design approaches prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility
Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software
Work closely with partner teams to provide the best-in-class developer experience
A day in the life
You will be responsible for leading the development and launch of core product features. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping to define these product features driving the system architecture and spearheading the best practices that enable a quality product.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
