Job Description
Classified positions needing substitutes include secretaries/bookkeepers childcare instructional assistants lunchroom monitors cooks custodians bus drivers bus monitors and nurses.
If chosen to be a substitute you must fulfill the following requirements:
Once hired you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete your new hire forms online. It will include the checklist below:
High school diploma GED or its equivalent
Physical examination/TB risk assessment using the Medical Examination of School Employees Form
Crime check (HCS will reimburse the fee for this.)
Drug screening ($20 fee)(This can be reimbursed. See note below.)
- Online Safety Training (free)
Submit a CAN check from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating you are clear to hire and have no findings of substantiated child abuse or neglect. ($10 fee payable only by debit/credit card. See note below.) Fill out form HERE. Please list as the recipient.
Note: If after one year of service the substitute accepts and completes 60 sub opportunities the drug screen and CAN check fees will be reimbursed.
