Job Description
THE ROLE AND THE TEAM
As a key member of our team you will primarily focus on backend development (approximately 80% of your role) architecting and enhancing our robust pricing platform built on Golang microservices and Kubernetes infrastructure. While your expertise will be predominantly applied to backend systems youll also contribute to TypeScript frontend applications as needed ensuring seamless integration across our technology stack.
This platform is the foundation of our article lifecycle optimization enabling automated data and decision-making that drive business success. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring seamless operations which are essential for bringing articles online.

Design develop and maintain microservices within our Golang-based event-driven architecture that powers our automated pricing platform.
Collaborate with our frontend-focused senior engineer to support the development of frontend systems that manage commercial price steering alerting monitoring and tracing required to process up to 1Bn near real-time price change events per day for 17 markets.
Own the whole development cycle: from architecture design to implementation testing and maintenance of productivity tooling for internal teams that scale and are easy to use.
Collaborate with other engineering data science and business teams to ensure that our solutions are well integrated in the larger context of Zalando.
Share knowledge and mentor team members regarding best practices code quality and tech frameworks.
WED LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
You have 5 years of experience in professional backend-focused software development and 2 years of experience with Golang.
You have 2 years of experience developing frontend solutions using React and ideally 1 years of experience in Typescript.
Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
You are familiar with and have experience working with frameworks such as Express (or similar).
You are experienced in working with CI/CD pipelines Kubernetes and Docker.
You have a business mindset a strong sense of ownership and are continuously thinking about new ways to improve your systems.
You keep your eyes on the latest software design architecture and web services developments and are passionate about well-structured readable and testable code.
