The Opportunity:
This is an internal recruitment open to all current regular trial service and limited duration employees of Multnomah County who are in paid status on approved leave or on an active recall list.

The Facility Security Unit (FSU) Training Coordinator will provide advanced level professional oversight and will serve as a subject matter expert on highly complex training programs administered by the Facility Security Unit including new hire instruction and on-boarding new employees across all four divisions of the Sheriffs Office. You will administer the FSU Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP) for trial service employees provide instruction and certify new Field Training Officers (FTOs) across all divisions in the agency as a DPSST certified FTEP instructor. You will serve as a subject matter expert for the agency in the application use and maintenance requirements of the FTEP program utilized by all uniform staff (recruitment training certification and supervision of FTOs). You will help coordinate in-service training including various internal trainings across multiple divisions.
This position focuses on creating coordinating and implementing training strategies to support new and ongoing staff development to further the mission of the Sheriffs Office in a way that is inclusive consistent measurable and equitable.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Salary: $42.71-52.58 hourly
Type of Position: Hourly overtime eligible represented by the AFSCME Local 88 union.
Schedule: The work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm to start. Alternative schedule options such as 4x10s may be available after a training period has been completed.
Work Location: The Multnomah County Courthouse1200 SW 1st Ave Portland OR 97204
Telework: Ad Hoc telework (occasionally working from home) may be available for this position after an on-sight training period has been completed. The incumbent should expect to work on-sight majority of the time.
