Job Description
Summary:
A growing surveying and engineering consulting firm is seeking a dependable Survey Crew Chief with strong hands-on experience in construction and topographic surveying. This role primarily supports projects across Florida for federal and county clients with occasional travel to locations such as Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Responsibilities:
* Manage and execute surveying projects from start to finish
* Set up and operate Trimble Total Stations GPS and Trimble Access
* Maintain survey equipment and troubleshoot issues with equipment
* Perform construction boundary and topographic surveys
* Work independently and troubleshoot field equipment as needed
* Lead or assist with 2-3 person field crews depending on project needs
* Communicate with supervisors and onsite contacts daily
* Travel to local and regional job sites occasionally out of state or country
* Ensure accuracy and quality in fieldwork and data collection
Qualifications:
* 5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief
* Proficient with Trimble equipment Trimble Access and Total Stations
* Strong knowledge of construction and topographic survey methods
* Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record
* Able to work independently and manage day-to-day field operations
* Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
* OSHA 30 or Survey Technician Course (Preferred)
* Bilingual in English / Spanish (Preferred)
* Must be able to lift and carry surveying equipment
