The Opportunity:
To lead an internationally visible programme of work in basic and translational heart failure research with clinical relevance with a focus in the areas of the pathogenesis and treatment of heart failure using preclinical models and clinical analysis. To ensure external funding outputs in high quality journals and contributions to teaching and training within the Centre and College. To contribute to clinical cardiology services of NHS Lothian.
Placement on the pay scale will be subject to consultant seniority as per the Clinical Consultant Contract. The successful applicant will be also be offered an additional Academic EPA. You must appear on the GMC Specialist Register and be eligible to hold an honorary consultant contract with NHS you are currently a member of the NHS Pension Scheme and are employed in a clinical post it may be possible for you to remain a member of the NHS Pension Scheme.

An Honorary NHS contract will be sought for the successful post holder. You therefore must be eligible to hold an honorary contract with NHS Lothian and must also be registered with theGeneral Medical Council
