Job Description

Are you ready to shape the future of NCCs capital equipment strategy in one of the Nordics leading construction and infrastructure companies As Category Manager CAPEX you will play a pivotal role in transforming how NCC Industry invests in and manages machinery and plant assets from strategy to execution with a total cost perspective.

This is not a traditional procurement role. It is a strategic high-impact position at the heart of NCCs production capability sustainability goals and financial performance. You will guide the companys investment decisions on critical capital equipment and set the direction for a smarter more efficient and more sustainable asset base plants and machineries across the Nordic region.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the CAPEX strategy: Define and implement the long-term investment and procurement roadmap for machinery and plant assets including asphalt plants crushers pavers and other machineries at production.
  • Lead collaboration: Work cross-functionally with finance operations sustainability and local procurement teams. Act as a bridge between strategic planning and hands-on operations.
  • Drive value & efficiency: Introduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) thinking into investment decisions. Standardize machinery specifications to optimize uptime cost and performance.
  • Shape a new investment process: Develop a governance framework for machinery purchases that aligns with NCCs broader financial and operational goals.
  • Lead sustainability integration: such as electrification digitalization and circular economy principles into category decisions.
  • Build supplier partnerships: Establish long-term strategic supplier relationships that foster innovation resilience and mutual value creation.
  • Manage change: Shift the organization from ad hoc site-level decisions to a centralized strategic CAPEX portfolio approach.

 

 

 

 


Qualifications :

Your experience and background 

  • 515 years of experience in strategic procurement category management or capital equipment sourcing in asset-intensive industries (e.g. construction mining manufacturing agriculture). Or other relevant background.
  • Consultancy background is a plus
  • Strong exposure to investment planning and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven track record in managing CAPEX categories and strategic supplier negotiations.
  • Experience from OEMs or contractors is highly valuable.
  • Familiarity with machinery cost structures (e.g. service uptime lifecycle costs) and TCO modelling.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics electrified or digitalized machinery systems is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Business Administration Economics or equivalent.

  • Strategic & structured able to see the big picture while working through detail-heavy challenges.
  • Analytically strong confident in working with investment data supplier evaluations and TCO models.
  • Collaborative & diplomatic skilled in stakeholder management from site managers to senior leaders.
  • Change leader capable of challenging the status quo educating internal stakeholders and influencing through business value.
  • Sustainability-minded able to embed environmental and efficiency considerations into investment strategies.
  • Fluent in a Scandinavian language and English.

  • This position can be based in either Copenhagen Oslo Stockholm Gothenburg or Malm. 

  • The position will require travelling from time to time. 

  • This is a permanent position.
