Job Description

  1. Programme Details

The Analyst Development Programme is designed for young professionals looking to pursue a career in financial services.

  1. Customer Relationship and Portfolio Management

To assist with the acquisition of new to bank business alongside management of existing customers within Real Estate including attending market events and conferences and building relationships with introducers and existing clients.

To assist in the ongoing management of Real Estate customers in contribution towards the Commercial Bank strategic objectives. This will include preparation of credit papers which will include modelling as well as analysing and understanding the risks of new and existing facilities ranging from credit risk to market and regulatory risk. Assist in the legal documentation and execution process.

To own the in-life management of the customer lifecycle. Support the development of Management Information/ monitoring tools.

  1. People / development

Maintain and develop strong internal stakeholder network/relationships e.g. Operations Credit Risk.

Build strong relationships with other team members.

  1. Risk management/compliance

Develop high standards in assessing and mitigating risks as well as deal structuring documentation and execution.

Compliance with the Banks Risk Management Framework including all policies and procedures. To include completion of mandatory training.

Maintain strong relationships with internal risk stakeholders.

Report all issues of regulatory concern through the appropriate channels. Communicate and escalate potential issues/risks in a prompt and effective manner


Qualifications :

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or 1 years work experience in the banking sector preferably appropriate to the role.

Technical/Specialist Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Competent knowledge of Excel and elementary knowledge of VBA or Power BI would be useful but not essential
  • Some experience in cash flow modelling
  • General awareness of the UK lending/banking market
  • Good customer service presentation and negotiation skills
  • Good commercial and financial acumen
  • Good understanding of financial statements and ability to analyse them

Interpersonal

  • Good teamwork skills combined with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport in order to engage colleagues and gain support of peers
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with all business areas
  • Influencing skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues and higher levels of management.
  • High levels of drive energy and personal commitment to success
  • Ability to package and present ideas in a persuasive manner
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects
